Holiday leftovers are as much a part of the holiday as the meal itself. Resuing your leftover turkey, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, along with adding a couple of extra ingredients into the mix, can transform your leftovers into sweet or savory casseroles, soups, sandwiches, and even breakfast recipes! This year, we asked our fans to share and submit their favorite and most creative Thanksgiving leftover recipe creations. Whether you’re in the mood to keep indulging or wish to eat on the lighter side, here are our recipe winners from Crispy Green’s 2019 Thanksgiving Leftover Recipe contest!
Thanksgiving Leftovers Recipe Contest Winners:
1. All-In-One Thanksgiving Casserole by Jerri Loper
Jerri’s “secret sauce” is an all-in-one recipe of cheesy Thanksgiving deliciousness. He combined the leftover turkey, ham, and vegetables into a casserole pan and topped with melty cheese for a fun twist on the typical Thanksgiving casserole. Mmm… we’ll take a bite of this!
2. Thanksgiving Panini by Jennifer Bennington
Jennifer’s Thanksgiving Panini is making our mouths water! She turned all her leftover ingredients into the ultimate Thanksgiving sandwich — panini-style. Jennifer spread cranberry sauce on each slice of bread and layered the carved turkey, gravy, stuffing and green beans and cooked using a panini press. Talk about a stacked sandwich… YUM!
3. Fall Roasted Vegetables with Turkey by Melissa Mazzur
If you need a break from the heavy mashed potatoes, bread, and extra carbs, this is the recipe for you. Melissa made this beautiful dish with roasted sweet potatoes, purple squash, onions, carrots, beets, tahini and salad greens with leftover turkey. Healthy, light AND delicious!
