When kids move, incredible things happen.

Classrooms become communities. Friendly competition builds confidence. Healthy habits start to feel less like obligations and more like celebrations.

That energy powered the KidsFit Mission to Move and School Squat Challenge, led by Daira Driftmier — mom of three, Youth Fitness Specialist, and Creator and Director of the KidsFit non-profit program.

Through school partnerships and structured challenges, KidsFit helps students build foundational health literacy skills: move more, fuel better, and support both their bodies and minds.

And the results speak for themselves.

The Mission to Move: By the Numbers

According to the Mission to Move recap:

  • 3 million minutes moved
  • 438 schools registered
  • 21 states plus Puerto Rico represented
  • 12,300 kids impacted

That’s millions of minutes dedicated to building endurance, strength, teamwork, and confidence.

Ten schools received healthy snacks for their entire student body, reaching 7,500 students. The Top 10 schools also received positive behavior reward donations to recognize student achievement.

The initiative generated strong community engagement as well:

  • 53,000 social media views
  • 1,073 engagements
  • 37.5% email open rate

This wasn’t just a short-term challenge. It created measurable momentum.

Fueling the School Squat Challenge

The School Squat Challenge ran from January 19 through February 9. During the program, Crispy Green contributed 7,500 single-serve bags of Crispy Fruit in apple, strawberry, mango, and pineapple flavors.

The goal extended beyond movement. It helped reinforce the connection between physical activity and well-fueled bodies.

Hy-Vee, which carries the top four Crispy Fruit flavors, partnered through its KidsFit Wellness Club initiative, extending the program’s reach across the Midwest.

Schools received recognition, snack support, and incentive kits — reinforcing that positive health behaviors are worth celebrating.

Meet Daira Driftmier: Movement Starts at Home

For Daira, this mission is personal.

As a mom of three, she understands the realities of sports schedules, school commitments, and full family calendars. Fueling her own children means choosing snacks that fit into busy days. Staying energized herself requires consistency, not perfection.

That practical mindset shapes KidsFit. The program focuses on achievable health education, using structured movement challenges to give students accountability and shared goals.

Sustaining those programs depends on collaboration.

As Daira has noted, KidsFit Challenges rely on brand partners willing to invest in youth health education and positive reinforcement.

Why Partnerships Matter

Community-based wellness initiatives grow through collaboration.

Through its product donation, Crispy Green supported schools in rewarding participation and engagement. The 7,500 single-serving bags of Crispy Fruit helped ensure students had access to fruit-based snacks during the experience.

Providing healthy snacks school-wide reinforces a simple message: wellness is a shared effort.

When movement is celebrated — not framed as pressure — it changes how kids experience health.

The Bigger Picture

From 3 million minutes moved to thousands of students engaged across more than 400 schools, the Mission to Move and School Squat Challenge show what’s possible when schools, families, and brand partners align around a clear goal:

Help kids move more. Help them fuel better. Make it fun.

With continued collaboration, programs like KidsFit can expand their reach — supporting classrooms, empowering families, and reinforcing that healthy habits are built one minute, one movement, and one smart snack choice at a time.
