Trail mix is popular with runners because it doesn’t need refrigeration. Create your own version at home.  Mix and match these ingredients, portion out, then munch while you’re on the go. Store bought mixes are pricey and tend to have more sodium and sugar. With


Raw nuts, like almonds, peanuts
Seeds, like sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds
Whole grain cereals, like Cheerios or Chex, bran flakes, granola, toasted oats, puffed rice cereal
Dried fruit, or Crispy Green’s Crispy Fruit
Dark chocolate chips
Your favorite sweet or savory seasonings and spices


Simply dump all of the ingredients you want into a large bowl and mix together. Portion mix into snack bags of 1/3 cup or ½ cup servings.
