We’re kicking off 2021 with one of our favorite fitness contributors, Chris Freytag, founder of Get Healthy U.  She  has a 10-Minute Total Body Strength Workout using dumbbells you can do anywhere!  In 10 minutes you’ll work all your core muscle groups. This is an ideal for someone who wants to pick up strength training for the first time or someone who hasn’t done it in awhile and needs a refresher. Just pull out a mat, dumbbells and get going. Adapt the workout for any level.

Benefits of strength training

Strength training is a perfect way to boost your metabolism, which begins to slow down as we age. Muscles are also necessary to do daily tasks, as mundane as leaning over to pick up things around the house. To top it off, the more muscles you have, the better you are equipped to prevent or minimize injuries.  And lastly, muscle tone allows us to keep a healthy weight and feel better about ourselves.
