A recovery workout we can all use
We feature a lot of cardio workouts at Smart Lifebites, but this 10-Minute Foam Rolling Recovery from Chris Freytag will help you with recovery. What’s recovery? Every time you workout and push yourself, either through weights or cardio, you put a strain on your body. To get the most out of your workouts it’s important to rest after a workout and properly stretch out strained muscles. This will help you go into your next workouts feeling good.
Freytag is a certified personal trainer, TV personality, author and motivational speaker. She is the founder of Get Healthy U (gethealthyu.com) a free website with fitness and nutrition advice. Her Get Healthy U TV (gethealthyutv.com) is a streaming service.
Minimal equipment required
To get started with Freytag’s workout, all you need is a foam roller and massage ball. Freytag takes you through a complete body workou,t from the bottom of your feet to your back and legs. For instance, rolling a massage ball along the bottom of your foot could help relieve issues such as plantar fasciitis. She stresses that this recovery workout doesn’t have to be done right after a workout–you can do it anytime–even while watching TV at home at night or first thing in the morning. The important thing is that you’re consistent about doing it and making it a regular part of your fitness regime.
